Material documents should identify the base metal and applicable grade required by the project. For galvanized products, clarify whether the material is pre-galvanized or galvanized after fabrication. The submittal should explain how cut edges, welds, and damaged areas are treated. A coating value without the product condition, measurement method, or applicable requirement may be misleading.

Stainless steel submissions should identify the grade for tray, fittings, supports, and fasteners. Aluminum systems should define alloy or project-required material information and connection details. Dissimilar-metal interfaces need review where moisture or chemical exposure is possible. The entire route should be treated as a material system rather than a tray body with unspecified hardware.

Accessories are frequent sources of late substitutions.
